Artist's Description

One of our most amazing cultural experiences took place deep within the heart of the Okavango Delta, Botswana. We settled into a wooden dugout canoe, called a mokoro, as our guide Kapinga used a long wooden pole to move us smoothly through the shallow water. He warned us that hippos and crocodiles have been found in the water of the Okavango Delta, but that as long as we stayed in the canoe, we would be safe.
