Artist's Description

Graphite and pastel

The idea for this work came to me as I stood above a wall at Warwick Castle in England. I imagined a thousand years of families, generation after generation being born, growing up, marrying, working , growing old and dying below that ancient wall. Being an American, the 1000 year old wall seemed very ancient to me. Then I went to the British Museum of History. There I excitedly ran about the rooms housing artifacts and huge statues from the earliest civilizations. The scope and flow of history overwhelmed me. I saw myself standing right in the middle…

the middle of eternity.

Here is the Tree of Life depicted with scenes from history. The Tree grows on both sides of the River of Life. In the River are symbols of things God has given for our healing.

Motherly Eternity Past looks compassionately on and Baby Eternity Future seems to beckon me forward.
