Years ago my artistic Muse was the Owl…If I was in a creative block or just needed to get my energy up, I would paint an owl.
In my early years of finding out if I was an artist or not… I painted every type of owl known to man…this painting is one of the only owls I have left, I painted this over 30 years ago.
Today this is one of the ways I get my students out of blocks… I ask them what they want to paint not what they feel they should paint.
Often times I see my students fall into blocks either through feeling they have to keep up with others in the class or they get lost in their talent and can’t seem to find the path to completing a project.
Painting what you want to paint lifts the pressure of performance and they reestablish the feeling of painting for themselves.
Snowy Owl is an oil painting on artist stretched canvas, 20" X 24" in size.
Thanks for viewing my work.
