Jesus The Bridge To Heaven ( Mini series ) lesson 7

The goal of this lesson is to present the evidence that Jesus , The Christ ’s deathwas not circumstantial, but predestined !Outline of lesson 7 :Jesus’ death on the cross – was it fate or predestined ?Isaiah chapter 53: 1Who has believed our message to whom has the arm of The Lord been revealed( 2 ) for He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of aparched ground ; He has no stately form or majesty that we should look uponHim, nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him. ( 3 ) He was despisedand forsaken of men, a man of sorrow and acquainted with grief ; and like onefrom whom men hid their face, He was despised and we did not esteem Him.( 4 ) Surely our griefs He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried ; yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken , smitten of God , And afflicted. ( 5 ) But Hewas pierced through for our transgressions , He was crushed for our iniquities ;the chastened for our well being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we arehealed. ( 6 ) All of us like sheep have gone astray , each of us has turned his ownway ; but The Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him. ( 7 ) He wasoppressed and He was afflicted , yet He did not open His mouth ; like a lamb thatis led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that is silent before it’s shearers, so Hedid not open His mouth. ( 8 ) By oppression and judgment He was He was takenaway ; and as for His Generation, who considered that He was cut off out of theland of the living for the transgressions of My people to whom the stroke wasdue ? ( 9 ) His grave was assigned with the wicked men , yet He was with a richman in His death, because He had done no violence , nor was there any deceit inHis mouth. ( 10 ) But The Lord was pleased to crush Him , putting Him to grief ; ifHe would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offering , He willprolong His days and the good pleasure of The Lord will prosper in His hand.( 11 ) As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied ; byHis knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant , will justify the many, as He willbear their iniquities. ( 12 ) Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, andHe will divide the booty with the strong ; because He poured out Himself to death ,and was numbered with the transgressors ; yet He Himself bore the sins ofmany , and interceded for the transgressor.Jesus foretold His death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead to Hisdisciples.Mark chapter 8 : 31And He began to teach them that the Son Of Man must suffer many things and berejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed and after threedays rise again.Jesus told Nicodemus that The Son Of Man had to die on the cross to reconcileman back to fellowship with God .John chapter 3 : 14 – 15" And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness and even so must The SonOf Man be lifted up. ( 15 ) That whosoever believes may in Him have eternal life."The Bronze serpent healed the bitten Israelites.Numbers Chapter 21 : 7 – 8So the people came to Moses and said, " We have sinned because we havespoken against The Lord and you ; intercede with The Lord that He may removethe serpents from us. And Moses interceded for the people. (8 ) Then The Lordsaid to Moses , " Make a fiery serpent and set it on a standard ; and it shall comeabout , that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it , he shall live ."Jesus knew He was going to be betrayed to the religious leaders by one of Hisdisciples ; He knew the betrayer by name, yet did not try to stop him .John chapter 13 : 25 – 27He leaned back thus on Jesus’ breast , said to Him ," Lord , Who is it ? "( 26 ) Jesus therefore answered, " That is the one fore whom i shall dip themorsel and give to him. " When He had dipped the morsel , He took and gave it toJudas , the son of Simon Iscariot. ( 27 ) And after the morsel , Satan then enteredinto Him. Jesus therefore said to him, " what you do, do it quickly . "Jesus rebuked one of His disciples when he tried to prevent Jesus’ arrest , bystriking a slave of the high priest. Jesus tell them that if it was God’s will, Hecould prevent His own arrest.Matthew chapter 26 : 50 – 54And Jesus said to him , " Friend , do what you have come for." Then they cameand laid hands on Jesus seized Him. ( 51 ) And behold one of those who werewith Jesus reached and drew out his sword struck the slave of the high priest ,and cut off his ear . ( 52 ) Then Jesus said to him, " Put your sword back in it’splace ; for all those who take up the sword shall perish by the sword. ( 53 ) or doyou think that i can not appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposaltwelve legions of angels. ( 54 ) How then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that itmust happen this way ? "Jesus did not defend Himself against the false testimonies that were spokenagainst Him at His trial .Matthew chapter 27 : 12 – 14And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He made noanswer. ( 13 ) Then Pilot said to Him, " Do You not hear how many things theytestify against You ? (14 ) " And He did not answer him with regard to even asingle charge, so that the governor was quite amazed. In the midst of His suffering on the cross, Jesus did not doubt His own identity asGod’s sent Savior.Luke chapter 23 : 40 – 43But the other answered, and rebuking him said, " Do you not even fear God, sinceyou are under the same sentence of condemnation ? ( 41 ) And we indeedjustly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds, but this man has donenothing wrong. ( 42 ) " And he was saying, " Jesus , remember me when Youcome into your kingdom ! " And He said to him, " Truly I say to you, today you shallbe with Me in Paradise. "After Jesus fulfilled all of the things that God predestined to take place on thecross, He proclaimed that it was finished .John chapter 19 : 13When Jesus therefore had received the sour wine , He said , " It is finished ! "And He bowed His head and gave up His Spirit .Through Adam came separation from God, Through Jesus came reunion withGod.Romans chapter 5 : 12 – 15Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and deaththrough sin , so death spread to all men , because all sinned . ( 13 ) For until thelaw sin was in the world ; but sin is not imputed where there is no law.( 14 ) Nevertheless death reined from Adam until Moses, even over those whohad not sinned in the likeness of offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who wasto come. ( 15 ) But the free gift is not like the transgression, for if by thetransgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of one Man ,Jesus Christ, abound to the many ."This concludes lesson 7Lesson 8 will be posted next week.If you have missed any lessons you can fine them at my gallery.I hope you will continue to follow this mini seriesJesus The Bridge To HeavenWritten by Stephen J.
