Artist's Description

Road traffic on top, train track, footbridges and water main on the lower level. Clever idea, except for the corners in the road to align it with and then exit from the railway line’s path. Completed in 1932, well before the days of large trucks and buses, oncoming traffic is now forced to give-way on corners to any large vehicle.

The Grafton bridge is currently the only road link between South Grafton and Grafton, the only path for all traffic and also Grafton’s water supply pipes.
