Sandy, the ‘almost hurricane’ also known as the Frankenstorm, hit southeastern Connecticut on a Monday with high winds that caused widespread power outages. This is the sky at 1:23 in the afternoon on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. It’s gloomy, eerie and strangely beautiful. The return of electricity is still about 25 hours away. There will be no Trick-or-Treaters tonight because there are no street lights. It will be too dark and not safe. The large tree is an oak. It had leaves on Sunday, but lost them in the high winds on Monday.
This photo is unedited, it really looked just like this. Best viewed large.
