Artist's Description

A watercolor painting captures the memory of a purple rose called Blue Boy.
This beautiful Barbra Streisand song links memories with how we remember the way things were.

Memories, light the corners of my mind,
Misty watercolor memories of the way we were.
Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind,
Smiles we give to one another for the way we were.

This digital water color was created in Corel Paint Shop Pro. Layers and textures have been added.
Canon EOS REBEL T1i, Canon Zoom Lens EF-S 18-55mm.
Dedicated to memories of times gone by.

Can it be that it was all so simple then
Or has time rewritten every line?
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me would we? Could we?

Memories, may be beautiful and yet
What’s too painful to remember
We simply choose to forget
So it’s the laughter we will remember
Whenever we remember
The way we were.

“The Way We Were” is the title song to the 1973 movie The Way We Were, starring Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford.
The song was written by Alan Bergman and Marilyn Bergman (lyrics) and Marvin Hamlisch (music) and performed by Streisand.
It won the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.
