The birth of knowing

One step can be
Too many
When there is
No more
To give
The well
Empty
The riverbed
Dry
Eyes full of
Sadness
A salty trail
Evidence
Of her sorrow’s path
And yet the hurt
Still remains.
For all intent
Nothing appears
Altered
There is the doings
Of a busy life
To and fro are
Exchanged
Yet
She remains
Unmoved
Untouched
Frozen
In her pain…
Fear flickers at her
Outer edges
Threatens a searing
Heat
That could shatter her
Protected heart
Her quaking mind
Screams;
“Busy busy busy!”
Distraction
Do not feel…
But always
Her tidal wave
Is not far behind;
So many walls
To erect,
The watercourse of
Her-self is
Unrelenting.
Exhausted
She lets go and is
Swept up into a
Sea of hurt
But she
Doesn’t drown
Wave upon wave of
Tumult
She is buffeted
But she
Doesn’t die
Instead
She lay
Like a new born
Knowing that
The shackles are
Her own
And only she can
Cast them off…

Artist's Description

some women define themselves by how they interact with their loved ones. unfortunately if they are mistreated over a long enough period they will emotionally withdraw but still appear present… this can be their undoing.
this is a jot about that
