The light makers

Despair comes in
Many guises;
Most unrecognizable…
We trudge around
Work for the man
Raise our kids
Bury our parents
All the while
Telling ourselves;
“This is living
Not a game.”
To pull the quilt over
Our heads
Deep into the sand…
Is this denial
Where we
Really see
There is truly
Nothing but the
Black hole…
It would be easy
To stay
Where there is
No escape…
The pull
So powerful…
If this is
Thing then
How would we
Ever know?
We can circle
Aimless around
Produce one
Profound sliver
Of light;
In what otherwise
Could be a
Meaningless life…
Would this then define us?
Where humanity is
The rainbow
Of what otherwise
Would be a grey ol’ world…

The light makers

Artist's Description

a small attempt to play with the "meaning of life,’ the inter-play of humanity and the universe… this is coming up to a time for reflection for me… what will the New Year “Rosh Hashana” bring? Yom Kippur; " Day of Atonement"… can i positively effect just once on a world in chaos and despair… show grace when deep down there is not some? Be sorry for something i’m yet to do intentionally or otherwise…
