Emersion

I descend to the
River. Layer by
Layer I
Remove my travel
Weary clothes. I
See
Their patterns
Their stitches
Their stories. They are
Dusty
Faded
Bent out of shape.
Gently I
Place them; for they in
Truth are me,
Into the waters and
Sink… a babe in the
Mother’s amniotic sac.
With each ripple
A breath
A release
A let go. My
Clothes rise to the
Top;
Unburdened of their
Labours,
Float to the
Opalescent pebbles.
Sun drenched they
Become dry and
Taut. And me
Within is
Revived
Ready
To discover
To hold true
The
Most sacred.
