Starved to be full

“How long has it been Child?”
“I don’t know
But the world has turned
The moons have
Come and gone a thousand times.”
“Why do you stay?”
The starved One looked up
Eyes empty
Bleak
Answered;
“I have nowhere else
To go…”
The old One replied;
“The well has run dry
There is no more sustenance
From where you latch
You must let go."
A tsunami washed
Over the Child
Tumbling her.
Down became up
Fear drenched
She landed on
The wake of a Dream
Where the sun is bright
The land green
And her every breath
Imbued
With Hope of possibility
