Jutted out
A reminder that
The escarpment
Surrounding my heart
Was all but
Impenetrable
But as luck
Would have it
There was the
Tinniest gap
From which
All wonders have
Climbed inside
Love and forgiveness
The most bountiful
The rendition of which
That in spite of myself
I have the opportunity
To embrace
Life’s full measure
