Half way

On the threshold of
Her prime
She timidly sticks
To one side
If only she knew
On what she walked
A milky way
Where moon beams protect
And planets striate
But she only sees
A grey ol’ world
Full of pain and hurt
Already dressed in black
She mourns her past
Sees no future
So hurries to her end
A tunnel of miasma
Instead of the light
That could be
