Artist's Description

Taken with a Nikon D60 at John Flynn’s Grave, near Alice Springs in the West Macdonnell Ranges, N.T, Australia. This is the grave of the Reverend John Flynn, who was the founder of the Australian Royal Flying Doctor Service. He lived from 1880 to 1951 and in his time established this vital service which is still in operation today and provides medical aid for those who live in remote country areas. The stone on his grave comes from a local sacred Aboriginal site but is not the original stone; the original one was from the Devil’s marbles but the local Aboriginals had it returned there and a new one was put in place. Part of the West Macdonnell National Park, this lovely grave lies under Mount Gillen.
