Taken with a Nikon D60 at Longreach airport, outback Queensland, Australia. This heritage listed plane hangar is where the Aussie airline QANTAS ( Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Service ) began operating in 1922 with just 2 small planes. It was also the start of the aerial medical service which is now known as the Royal Flying Doctor Service. This hangar is where much of the work went into the famous " Flying kangaroo " by it’s founders, Hudson Fysh, Paul McGinnis, Fergus Mcmaster and engineer Arthur Baird. The QANTAS founders museum lies next to this hangar where you can see the story of the airline and many interesting items and old planes associated with it. A must see if you go to Longreach !
