The hunter

As light turns to dark
My true self breaks apart
The darkness buried within
Breaks free and the hunt begins

Wandering the now darkened streets
I search for my next tasty treat
They flock to clubs and songsters
I follow them looking for loners

Eventually one breaks from the pack
I move closer in primed to attack
When they see me, they hesitate to think
Deep In their neck, my fangs I sink

As I drain their life and soul
The eyes glaze over, blood begins to get cold
My darkness begins to withdraw to its inner depths
As my hunger is now sated I retrace my steps

Returning to my dark abode
I wash the blood from where it flowed
My soul now racked with grief
From this pain there will be no relief
