I was walking along North Mission Beach this afternoon. I heard a strange sound and a cyclist wooshed past me. It made me remember being told of the time when they used to land light areoplanes on the beach – way back in the early 1950’s.
I decided to start walking from the picnic area near the Castaways Resort and the stinger net. I walked for about half and hour and turned back. I don’t know how long the beach is, but I have never walked its full length from the rocks in the north to wherever it ends in the south. The rocks in the north would have taken me at least half an hour to walk to from where I started out. I have done that walk many times.
The cocanut trees really do go all the way along the beach.
Today the tide had been out and was coming in when I was there.
Mission Beach is in Far North Queensland, Australia. I used my Sony compact camera for photos at the beach today.
