Sleepy kitten

Ginger Puss was only about 4 weeks old when I found him abandoned at my front door when I got home one Saturday morning. His little sister, Cuddles, was with him. They are now nine years old and still at my place.

Ginger Puss is blind and it was at about the time this photo was taken that we were starting to work out he had a real problem. He is unable to jump up onto anything – he climgs. Once he is up on something he has difficulty getting down and as a young cat would often sit on a low object, such as a chair, and cry until he was lifted off. Now he is more experienced and can get off most things.

He used to love to cuddle up to people and was like a living cuddly toy. Unfortunately Cuddles got jealous and has forced him to avoid us and it is difficult to hold him now as he just wants to get down. It is partly his fault as he used to love beating her up, until she decided she’d had enough of him and fought back. They both seem content. Cuddles is a miniture and a lot smaller than Ginger Puss.
