Artist's Description

this is an eight shot panorama taken from the summit of the Wendelstein (1.838m) in Bavaria, Germany.

The Wendelstein is pretty popular for day-trip visits and can be reached either from Brannenburg and the “Zahnradbahn” (cog railroad) or from Bayrischzell and a cablecar.
The ride up with the cog railroad is pretty cool, as the track runs along the very edge of the mountains at some points and offers spectacular views.

The Wendelstein itself offers a very nice view over the Bavarian Alps and also into the Austrian Alps in the Tyrol. On clear days you can look as far as the Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain.

On the very top of the Wendelstein you will also find an observatory and a very smal chapel.
