SAIL 2010, Amsterdam
Thursday August 19, 2010 – Sail-in

“SAIL Amsterdam is a large maritime event held every five years in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Tall ships from all over the world visit the city to moor in its Eastern harbour, and people can then visit the ships for four days.” (quote Wikipedia)

This photo:
Lifesaver and crew on the IJmuiden, a ship that was carrying a banner promoting donations to the KNRM (Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution) – this may be a KNRM-lifeboat, but I am not sure about that. (if anybody knows, please feel free to comment and add info! )
Photo made during the Sail-in, on the river IJ

Photograph made with Pentax K10D camera and Tamron 70-300mm Tele-macro1:2 lens and cropped
1/350 sec at f/ unknown
focal length 180 mm, ISO 400
