Artist's Description

The Year of the Ox is one of the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac. In the foreground is the Chinese character for the Ox.

Ox people are said to be dependable, hard-working, modest, and tenacious. You are probably and Ox if you were born in 2009, 1997, 1985, 1973, 1961, 1949, 1937, or 1925, but double-check the exact dates if your birthday is in mid-January to mid-February because the Lunar New Year is on a different date each year. Wikipedia’s Chinese Zodiac page is a good starting point for more information about all of the signs and their meanings.

Also available as a T-shirt, as cards with text and without text, and as wall art.

The Year of the Ox was drawn with a Pitt Brush pen and Pigma Microns on 100lb smooth finish bristol board, 11×14 inches, and colored digitally. Copyright 2009 Stephanie Smith, contact me for re-use and customization!
