Celtic ladies meet by the sea. Their sea shell hats were an idea I had after seeing a drawing of a scallop shell, but as it turns out, pilgrims and travellers used to wear shells on their coats when they sailed off to new lands. My boat theme, inspired by the story-telling of artists such as Bruegel and Bosch, carried on for a few years in the late nineties.
