Artist's Description

Located next to the river Tagus in the ‘Belem’ region of Lisbon is the ‘Monument to the Discoveries’ (Padrao dos Descobrimentos). Built in 1960 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Henry the navigator’s death.

Taken in RAW and shot in manual mode with a Nikon D300s and a Sigma 10-20 wide-angle lens at a focal length of 11mm. Other settings include an ISO value of 100, F11 and a shutter speed of 1/45th sec. Matrix metering mode was used and post production was done in Adobe RAW and CS5.
