self-portrait for the bubbler portrait challenge that is of myself as the theme :)
this is how i feel quite often…somewhat split between my academic side and my artistic side. my academic side gets to school on time, finishes all my homework, and studies thoroughly for tests. my art side just wants to play, paint and drink coffee ♥
mixed media
watercolor
acrylic
ink pen
tea-stained paper
collage with old watercolor scraps
I was planning on taking progress shots…however it went from this drawing to the finished product before i took any more photos! i guess my right brain took over

Lovely, I like it a lot.

well you all are creating such amazing pieces, i felt like i had to create something to participate as well. I’m definately going to follow the bubbler portrait challenges now. it’s a great way to get inspired :)
Oh, and I know how you feel re your description also. I’m such a right brainer, but sometimes duty pushes you into left brain status… Very annoying all this important stuff that happens in the left side of my brain, isn’t it!!?
H xx
yes it is very annoying when duty calls! for some reason it’s hard for me to balance…but i’m going to have plenty of time to work on that.
omg!!!! i love it when i get excited about something! LOL
this is genius i tell you, genius!!!!! i love the narrative too steph.
i would def. title it “she turned left instead of right”, LOL
i hope a better title comes to you. titles are so fun.
LOVE this work.
;-) xox
thanks so much! :)
it was fun to do. it was time for a new self portrait.
A common problem.
I suspect you will always have University, or work, or boyfriend, or kids, or household chores or a million other things to distract you from fun.
Very nice work.
that is true ray, it’s all about the balance of your own life! the hard part if finding an efficient way to balance both sides
Excellent work!! I love how clearly the message/theme comes through before you even read the description!
that’s great to hear! thanks Chelsea :)
Beautiful !!! I love the concept Stephanie, so effective- gorgeous focus on the eyes too. You made it on time Yaaaaaaaay xx
thanks anita! barely made it on time! what’s funny is that i had to skip my math class last night in order to finish it, which is basically what the portrait is all about…hehe :)
WOW! you really got a nice theme for your own portrait! you know yourself better than anyone..lol!
but really this is a great job!
thanks Lubna! :)
