Artist's Description

The Beverly Hills Supper Club was a night club built in the 20’s-30’s era where it provided illegal gambling, alcohol, and an escape from the world… When the owner wouldn’t sell the building it was burned down by Mafia Members… The Building would be rebuilt, and added too after the first fire… The supper club would eventually be shut down, until it would be rebuilt, and renovated under new ownership. Nearing completion of the remodel, the building would catch fire… It ended up being a 2million dollar fire… All was almost a lost. But determined the owner at the time was not set back. He would again, set out to rebuild the Beverly Hills Club (later to be named the Beverly Hills Supper Club) yet again, bigger and better….

To sum up a long, but great story, the last fire was a electrical fire. 165 People died that night on May 28th, 1977. This memorial was built on the 20th, or 25th (can’t remember) anniversary of that fate filled night…

Many people in the Greater Cincinnati area lives were changed that night. They either knew someone working there or who was going in for dinner and a show that night.

The Beverly Hills Supper Club Fire was the 2nd worse in US history… However, it has created new regulations for night clubs, such as emergency exits (which were not in every room), over head sprinkler systems (the supper club had none), and many others.
