Poem on a Lonely Night

The clearing of the fog

awakes me like a nettle sting

I bury the residue of yesterday,

the memory of your laughter

sneaks in my open window.

After telling you how I feel,

not knowing for sure if you can hear me,

I ask you if you understand me,

You answer, “Do you understand yourself?”
