Wasted

Wasted a whole day in bed

Wishing I was a woman, thinking I was dead

Tasted an empire in my head

With oriental flowers and beautiful eyes

Butterflies

A tacky give-away calendar at the Hoi-tin

Is all you take me back to

Far and wide to cross the tide

To fill my head…

I just as well might as well have stayed at home

Senorita

Senorita

Give me tequila

I changed my clothes as they all went home

Senorita

Senorita

Give me tequila

Torino, Torino

I can’t even sit on your polished floor

Should be up in the hills

With a ball and a bottle

Waiting for a train that’s never gonna come

Bologna, they write and sing of places like you

I was forced and fenced into a field

Wasted on TV as they watched with machine guns

Hard assed squaddies, stick wielding caribinieri..

As hours drew past under the burning sun

So Yankee when you ask me again,

What happened in Rimini?

What do you know, what do you know about football?

Wasted

Artist's Description

wrote this as a song, more or less, soon after getting back from the 1990 World Cup in Italy. I think i was trying to do something on the style of Shane McGowan or Tom Waits. anywhay. i didn’t try anything else again.. but i just found this.. so i thought put it up and see if it would have been a global success.
