Artist's Description

I wanted to play on the ‘King Of POP’ title – since Andy Warhol was a
pop artist and popular for so many years in the 60’s – as he still is today.

Andy Warhol and Peter Max were a big part of my youth in the 60’s –
I loved their work. They became a huge influence in my artwork.

Peter Max was a little boy in Shanghai, China where he
lived in a Jewish Refugee Camp during World War II with his
family . It turns out that my mother knew him and his family
(as she also lived in the camp after fleeing Berlin with her family).
