December 11th 2003,
God sent you, Hailie Rose, for all to see.
You were born so small, but born a fighter.
Baby girl, you made this cold world so much brighter.
Thinking back on everyday, day in day out,
I can say baby girl without a doubt,
You had amazing strength to endure so much,
I hope you know how many hearts you stole,
How many lives you touched.
I never wanted to see the day when I’de have to say goodbye.
But that day I sat and looked to the sky.
It was November 3rd 2007,
When God took you, Hailie Rose, to his heaven,
And until the day I once again see your face,
You remain in my heart and in God’s grace.
And no matter how bad I want you back, I want you here,
I know where you are you no longer feel pain, you no longer feel fear.
And I’ll always miss you baby girl,
Rest In Piece
For all of us your beautiful memory will never end,
Will never cease.

Artist's Description

This was a very tuff poem for me to write. It took a series of a few days to have the strength to finish it. It is a poem about my beautiful niece who was born very sick and who passed away about a month shy of her 4th birthday. She was such a fighter and a wonderful inspiration to all that had the pleasure of knowing her. I read this poem at her service and in her memory. She will never be forgotten.
