All That is Left... ©

All that is left is a photograph;
That I grasp in my hand;
The photograph…
Holds not your soul,
Just your memory.
That’s all that you left here,
Your memory…

All that is left is a photograph;
And everyday my heart breaks;
To know that
I can’t touch your beautiful face.

All that is left is a photograph;
And now my tears consume me;
As the world passes me by;
And everyone keeps living,
In their own little lives.

All that is left is a photograph;
And now they tell me,
This is how it is.
People die,
And others must continue to live.

All that is left is a photograph;
But it’s not enough.
Without you I am only half alive;
Because you took a piece of me,
To a place I have yet to see.

As I look at your photograph…
My tear smudges the ink
And all I can say is…
I miss you.
And then my heart begins to sink. ©
