Drenched in her own sweat, she awakens frightened from a nightmare that occurs frequently. The many doctors she has seen have no cure for these recurring afflictions. She’s tried everything from herbs to antidotes, nothing works. Still every night as she lays her head down to sleep and knows she’s not going to sleep peacefully through the night. But now as she sits there, recalling what she sees every night, blood, death, a sure omen of disaster. In her dream she wields a dagger, 14 inches, long enough to cleanly stab right through a human heart. This fact, haunts her. Walking through the woods, she hear nothing but crows, in the pitch black foggy night. Creeping slowly up the steps, which she realizes as her own home, she quietly opens the front door. Hearing clattering in the next room, she turns to her right, annoyed by this sound. Sound, light, and chatter tantalize her. She just can’t help it. Seeing her husband in the next room, rummaging through his record collection she is immediately taunted to stop the racket. Nothing phases him as he smiles at her and turns his back. She raises the dagger high, but then recalls. What is she doing? She turns her back to walk out of the room, but hears a groan and looks to see her husband in agonizing pain. She screams, seeing as there was nothing she could do. At that moment she wakes, realizing it was just a dream. But, yet, the dagger in her hand lays neatly so in an off-set position, that the fresh blood glistens in the moonlight.
