A deserted lighthouse keeper’s house on a remote lighthouse island called Sambro Island. Located about 6 kilometres from Sambro Harbour in the Atlantic Canadian province of Nova Scotia.
Location: Sambro Island, Nova Scotia, Canada
This is a quote from Wikipedia:
“On August 16, 2008, the community of Sambro Harbour and the Nova Scotia Lighthouse Preservation Society celebrated the lighthouse’s 250th birthday by bringing 150 people to the island for talks and tours. One of the derelict keeper’s houses was destroyed by a suspicious fire on September 14, 2008, raising fears about the fate of the other neglected heritage structures on the island such as the Gas House.”

wonderful comp and perspective on this neat old find!
Nice shot Scott
wow what history and stories that house contains………
Oh what stories it could tell….Wow!! Love this shot!!
Wow, what a great place and location. Can’t imagine someone wouldn’t want to restore it, at least for a retreat.
This is about a half hour boat ride from the mainland. Wouldn’t want to be there during a storm. The only things on this island are this house and one other plus the lighthouse and a storage shed. 90% solid rock including a naturally occurring path down to the water called the “Devil’s Stairway”. thanks for the comments!
Cool capture Scott…I can feel all the history in that house.
You have captured this beautifully my Love! I can almost feel the ghost!
Fascinating. My sure fave!
What a beautiful old building – great shot and capture !!!
