For Naomi

So beautiful and wondrous
You’re cradled in my arms
Fresh and new
Full of zeal
Borne to this worlds charms.

Yet to gaze, yet to look
Upon what is to be
Bright and clean
Innocence
From here, where do we go.

In your eyes so crisp and clear
Bright hope tomorrow brings
Loud and strong
We go on
Jesus by our side.

Tiny babe, I love you so
So fragile now you seem
On trust to me
By God above
For many years to come

Remember this, good and strong
As far as I know how
Peace and joy
I’ll try to bring
With love until the end.

Artist's Description

I wrote this for my only daughter and eldst child Naomi when she was just a few weeks old. The feeling every new parent gets of the awsome job we have as parents is never understood until it happens. And suddenly life before baby is a distant memory. This poem encompases the fears, and the joys of this new life. Naomi is now almost 15, yet i still remember those feelings as i re read this poem.
