The Shore

I walk along the shore
And the wind blows gently by-
The subtle roar of the waves
Rolling fills my ears
My busy mind races on
As the calmness slows me down.
I have to grab my breath
As this beauty catches me.
And draws me further
From the things that fill my thoughts.
The busyness of life
Which tries to drag me down.
Slowly dissolves to dust
In the horizon of my dreams.
And I see this great expanse
Of calmness before my eyes
And feel the calming breeze
As it kisses my face
And once again I am at peace
In the beauty of this place.

Artist's Description

I wrote this the year i met my husband. I had woken early and decided to watch the sunrise, it was so peaceful, quiet and beautiful. And it was just me and the sea whilst the rest of my family still slept on.
