Suzy's Song

God knows what is hiding in that deep and sunken heart,
Dear you need the catalyst, if only you could start,
To bring your drunken hopes in to play their part,
In a stark light of day, and be honest to your heart.

God knows what is hiding in those wet and gorgeous eyes,
Roses you receive could never stifle your cries,
The feigned smiles you paint to cover all the lies,
To an aggressive world so insistent to pry,
Show your feelings not the painting that you try.

.
God knows what is hiding in that world of abstinence,
A throne of muted angels await your embrace,
They await you enthroned in white lace,
On your misguided adventure and a moral race,
You will find them ascending to meet you in your place.

God knows what is waiting in your mind, he wished you knew,
Take on ideas of hope and love, even just a few,
Listen to these feelings, let them linger and endure,
A child so loving, giving and so pure,
If you knew what the world knew,
You’d realise you were a masterpiece too.
