Artist's Description

Hanging Rock,is a huge famous rock formation of solid sandstone hundreds of meters high.

Its found in the Blue Mountains Australia.

My mate Adrian Green and I had a 3am start to head up the Blue Mountains.
3.30 picked up my dad Andrew Georgiou and we drove an hour up to Blackheath.

4.30 arrived at the gate on Ridgewell Rd Blackheath.
It was Freezing close to 1 degree outside.

Head torches on we set off towards Baltzers lookout.

5.30 we arrived at the summit.
climbed down the steep embankment to the cliff edge.

We set up our tripods.
got our gear ready.

We got blown away with 35-45 km/hour winds- the chill factor was super cold

I took this photo with my Nikkor 18-35 mm lens un my D7100 Nikon body.
6 photos verticaly stitched on Photoshop photomerge.
i had a Cokin Graduated filter so i could get the sky.

I was getting so cold that my hands went blue and i couldn’t press the shutter.

The warm sun came over the horizon light streaming through warming our souls.

After the light got too bright we walked back to my 4WD.

I shouted everyone breakfast up at Blackheath and then we were off.

Thanks for coming (sometimes I wonder if its all worth it)
ill always have this photo.

What do you think?
