Deer – action

The powers of the Deer have been sought and employed by the shamans since the dawn of time. There were many Deer clans, and the power of the Deer totem people has always been great. The Deer instills strength in the minds and hearts of the members of your totem, giving them the ability to perform quick and decisive actions to make things happen in the physical world.
When times were just beginning and the Tribe of Men was still very small, the Deer realized that the Two-Legged were naked, hungry and in danger of extinction. Our ancestors will certainly join in disappearing from Mother Earth if something is not immediately done to prevent it.
The Deer then assembled all the Two-Legs in Council and said to them:
“Great Mystery sent me to teach you a lesson, the lesson of truth. You must learn that there is no reason to be afraid if you know what must be done and begin immediately to do so.
“And what should we do?” They asked.
“If you are naked and cold, you must kill me and remove my skin to warm you.” This is my gift to you. “Take it,” said the Antelope.
“We will do this,” replied the Two-Legs, “but what shall we do to fight our hunger?” We are hungry, what can we do to save ourselves?
“If you are hungry, you must kill me and use my flesh to satisfy your hunger; it will feed you and make you strong. This is my gift to you. And part of my service, part of my evolutionary process. “Take it,” said Deer.
Deer knew that the human race would survive the Ice Age if they learned to eat meat. Before the great mountains of ice were displaced, fruits and vegetables abounded, so that the Two-Legs had no need to eat the bodies of other creatures. The members of the Second World clans ate the Deer, acquiring the instinct and wisdom of four-legged animals and learning to survive, not to take more than necessary and not to waste.
Humans assimilated the Deer’s lesson very well and it was thanks to her that they survived to this day. Deer taught humans to praise the gifts sent to them by the Great Mystery and to avoid the indiscriminate and unmotivated destruction of every form of life.
Deer represents intentional action. The Antelope is a symbol of the antenna formed by its hair, that interconnects it with the Great Mystery through long uncles of light. Watching the Antelope, you become aware of your own mortality and the brevity of time you have been given on this planet. With this in mind, you must act accordingly, performing only good deeds that will please the Great Mystery. Deer’s energy is the knowledge of the fleetingness and circularity of life. Being aware of death, the Deer can live life to its fullest, knowing that action is the essence of life.
Run Deer …
Teach me the right pace
For each action.
Fast!
Fast!
So that I can run with grace.
