Artist's Description

Cleveland – This image is, I hope, a tribute of sorts to one of the most famous photographs of the Cleveland Union Terminal Tower City Center Building. The photograph to which I refer is by Margaret Bourke-White and was taken in 1928. Simply titled “Terminal Tower” (as it has lovingly been referred to as ever since), it gave the whole world a glimpse of the new gleaming white towering jewel located in the heart of Cleveland’s downtown Public Square District. It also showcased the future of city planning and ornately enricheden architectural achievements to come in years ahead. Built by the prestigious Chicago firm of Graham, Anderson, Probst & White and given many elaborate details and numerous increasingly styled setbacks, it was for years the most famous symbol and immediate landmark that one associated with Cleveland.
