Just saying goodby to Bessie, my bike, which I have been forced to sell. I’ll miss her. She was named after my grandmother and a funny storey. When I was little my mother and she were out and our van broke down. This was pre cell phones. My mother wasn’t well, so my grandmother accepted help from a kindly stranger, who rode her on the back of his bike to go call someone. This was in the 70’s mind you and old women didn’t commonly ride bikes. She was spotted by an unbelieving cousin who was with a friend. Of course the entire family heard about the incedent and has retold the funny storey. It was a source of pride for my “Gram” for a long time!

Thanks Sara. It was a Honda Shadow. Sorry folks, no Harley. Yeah, now I ride my bycycle instead. Not as exciting, but at least I get some exercise.
