South Brisbane Storms was created by dedicated Queenslander and Storm Chaser Andy Barber in 2005 after a few years of Storm Chasing around South-East Queensland.

Cameron Hines (known as ‘Hinezy’) is now a regular chase partner with Andy from 2009 and beyond. Cam currently works for the Bureau of Meteorology and boasts more than 8 years Storm Chasing experience himself from in and around the Region. We are in noway affiliated with the Bureau itself however as South Brisbane Storms is our own venture for sharing videos, images and discussion on severe weather and thunderstorms.

Cam and Andy decided to join forces and work with one-another get bring you the best images and footage possible from around your region. Both South Brisbane Storm Chasers have combined experience of close to 14 years across South-East Queensland and North-East New South Wales and liaise with numerous other chase groups. Our primary focus whilst chasing is to report severe weather to the Bureau to decrease lead warning times. We both love thunderstorms and severe weather with a passion. Experiencing the dynamics of the atmosphere and the science in motion is amazing to witness.

From 2010 they have been working in with various television networks to showcase footage and enhance the communities understanding of severe weather events including National Geographic and Network 10. Our approach to storm chasing is always safety first and Cam is also qualified in First-Aid as usually we are on the scene first in damaged areas.

We have been credited so far with working in conjunction with Network 10 Queensland, National Geographic, ABC Documentaries and various Newspapers & Magazines.

Thank you very much for becoming a follower of our page and enjoy the images, footage and experiences will be shared from our storm chases.
