Peace my little One

Peace, little child
So fraught with fear
Snuggle up close to me
I’ll dry your tear.

You’re loved, little child
And I know your heart
I called your name
Right from the start.

Full of grace, little one
Though you don’t think so now
Snuggle deep while I sing to you
Lullabies that tell how

You came, little child
In the Universe vast
You were named little one
In your long ago past.

And your name is so pure to me
It says all my love for you
And names all the gifts you bear
Unknown yet true.

You have so much love to give
Dearest sweet child
Though you fear you have nothing
It’s yourself, strong and wild

Who I love to see free
Taking chances to be
A child of the universe
Complete and set free.

Artist's Description

My own inner child has been fearful at being exposed and I have had to sit with her and talk to her and let her cry and then rest. In the midst of this, I had to write this poem. She is quiet now and at peace.
