Cum all yee wooman

and brandish the knife
be it one of your choosing
the key to your life

hold it aloft
and gather with me
in dark sackcloth
united we be

foward we’ll step
softly but strong
centuries have past
were women were wronged

moving like liquid
a shoal of sorrow
smothering evil
deep in its shadow

in our thousands we’ll walk
they’ll see us from space
isn’t it time
we reclaimed this place

we were witches and pagans
they set us alight
gather your women
gather your might

we need not slice
a single hair
just pass on the message
we can if we dare

men may falter
men may run
they may finally respect us
when they see us come

this earth has many
a good man and true
but for those bad, bad sons
we come for you

Cum all yee wooman

Artist's Description

Inspired by Jan Timmon’s
provocative piece ‘Now I can say no’

I hope you don’t mind Jan, but it dug up some medieval feminist in me LOL.

And I worked out that you can sorta sing this to the tune of Bob Dylan’s ‘The times they are a changin’ ha ha ha – spooky!!
