Artist's Description

As a kid growing up near Coney Island, I spent much of my misbegotten youth in Penny Arcades playing games and whiling away the hours. If all you have ever known in your youth are Nintendo, Wii and other such trash, then you have never lived!!!

TOKEN
1: an outward sign or expression <his tears were tokens of his grief>
2 : symbol, emblem <a white flag is a token of surrender>
3 : an instance of a linguistic expression

SKEE BALL
n. An early arcade and still popular redemption game in which balls are rolled up an inclined lane, aimed at holes of various point values. To play the game you had to go to the cashier and give him nickel, he would then give you a token which got you nine balls to play the game to get coupons to win a prize. The prize was never worth anywhere close to the amount of money it took to win it, but as a five year old, who cared!
