Artist's Description

I don’t often get to take a photo of a Solar Eclipse, so I took full advantage of this eclipse. This shot here is “THE FINAL STAGE”, of the eclipse before the moons shadow started receding once more. It took 4 filters on my lens so that I could take these shots without overpowering the sensors of the camera. I have never seen a full eclipse, in fact this one is the closest to full that I’ve ever seen. I used my Canon EOS 60D and my Canon 75-300MM F:4/5.1:1 telephoto lens. The 4 filters were, Yellow, Red, Blue and Green. I still had to use my view screen in order to keep from burning my eyes. I actually ended up with a shutter speed of 1/2000 with an ISO 6400 and the apperature was at f:32. I tried many different exposures and shutter times, this one seemed to be the shot I was looking for. Now, I have a shot of a solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse. Each shot was taken from my back yard in Vacaville, California in the United States of America. I did use a tripod to capture this shot, so they do have their uses for some shots, although I seldom use my tripod,,,and I should probably use it more often. lol
