Artist's Description

WHEN I TOOK THIS PHOTO OF SOME STUNT BOAT DRIVERS, I HAD NO IDEA THAT THE DRIVER IN THE MIDDLE BOAT, RUNNING LEFT TO RIGHT, WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS DAILY PRAYER. IT WASN’T UNTIL I TOOK THE PHOTO AND SCANNED IT INTO MY COMPUTER THAT IT TOLD ME WHAT THIS GUY WAS THINKING, “LORD, PLEASE DON’T LET US HIT”. BUT, IF YOU LOOK AT HIS HEAD POSITION, THE ONLY THING HE CAN BE DOING, IS PRAYING. HE CERTAINLY ISN’T LOOKING WHERE HE IS GOING. THE GUY IN THE WHITE BOAT LOOKS LIKE HE IS WATCHING THE OTHER GUY DUCKING. I GUESS HIS JOB JUST MEANT, POINT IN ONE DIRECTION, DON’T TURN THE WHEEL AND HOLD ON TIGHT. OH YEAH,,,,,,,,,,PRAY!!!!! THESE GUYS JUST LOOKED LIKE THEY HAD TOO MUCH FUN TO LEAGLEY GET PAID FOR THIS STUFF. THIS WAS IN MARINE WORLD, IN REDWOOD CITY WAY BACK IN 1979. ME MY LATE FIANCE, HER DAD AND HIS GIRLFRIEND WENT FOR A VERY LONG WALK WITH SOME SIT DOWN BREAKS NOW AND THEN TO WATCH THE SHOWS. THE BOATS WERE NEAT, BUT I THINK I LIKED THE TIGERS THE BEST. SANDY IS GONE NOW, BUT I STILL HAVE THE MEMORIES WE MADE WITH EACH OTHER.
