Artist's Description

THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED WITH ONE DIGITAL PHOTO. I STARTED WITH THE HOOD OF MY FORD EXPLORER THAT HAS BEEN PAINTED WITH FLAMES. I TOOK THAT PHOTO TO ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS AND STARTED CHANGING IT ALL AROUND UNTIL I FOUND SOMETHING THAT I LIKED. THAT IMAGE IS WHAT YOU SEE ON THE FOUR OUTER CORNER SHOTS OF THIS IMAGE “FIESTA DAZE 1”. IT IS ALSO THE IMAGE THAT MADE UP THE INNER IMAGE IN WHICH I USED PRINTMASTER TO MERGE THE FOUR IMAGES INTO ONE. I ALSO USED PRINTMASTER TO MERGE THE FOUR OUTER CORNER IMAGES THAT LOOK LIKE THEY ARE OPENING UP LIKE A FLOWER. THEN I ADDED SHAPES LIKE STAR BURSTS, ARROWS, BANNERS AND WHAT EVER ELSE I COULD FIND THAT MADE THE IMAGE LOOK DEEPER AND NOT JUST TWO DEMINSIONAL. THIS SAME PROCESS AS WELL AS THE SAME ORIGINAL ABSTRACT SHOT MADE MORE THAT 5 OTHER IMAGES. ALL FROM THE SAME SHOT AND ALL DIFFERENT AND ORIGINAL. I HAVE THREE OF THEM BLOWN UP TO 16X20, FRAMED AND HANGING OVER THE HEADBOARD OF MY BED. THE COLORS AND DIFFERENT SHAPES ALL GO TOGETHER, EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE ALL OF ONE SHOT. WHEN I STARTED WITH THE FLAMED HOOD OF MY TRUCK, I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WOULD END UP WITH. THIS IS ALSO THE VERY FIRST DIGITAL DARKROOM IMAGE THAT I CAME UP WITH, IN THAT IT WAS CREATED IN THE DIGITAL DARKROOM FROM A DIGITAL PHOTO. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED HOW TO CUT AND PASTE IMAGES FROM ONE PHOTO TO ANOTHER, WHICH IS SOMETHING I DIDN’T KNOW AT THE TIME I DID THIS IMAGE.
