Artist's Description

THIS US COAST GUARD BOAT PASSED ME WHILE I WAS FISHING FROM MY 17FOOT 1966 ARISTOCRAFT ON SUNDAY APRIL 20, 2008, IN SUISUN SLOUGH IN THE CALIFORNIA DELTA WATER WAYS, NEAR FAIRFIELD. I WAS HOPING TO FISH FARTHER OUT IN THE SYSTEM, BUT I HAD AN ENGINE OVERHEAT PROBLEM AND I COULD ONLY GET ABOUT 1 MILE OUT OF THE LAUNCH AREA. I DID CATCH TWO STRIPERS, BUT THEY WEREN’T LEGAL SIZE TO KEEP SO I LET THEM GO. STRANGELY ENOUGH, MY COUSIN, H.C.LAMBERT III, SOLD THE COAST GUARD THESE BOATS. HE ALSO SOLD ONE TO EACH OF THE BUSH PRESIDENTS. THESE GUYS MUST HAVE BEEN ON A CALL, BECAUSE THEY WERE GOING VERY SLOW WHEN THEY CAME IN AND IN THIS SHOT OF THEM GOING OUT, THEY ARE FLYING LOW.
