ANOTHER WINTER SEASON

The weather has been awful,
And my government is useless.
Because of all this the streets in my boring suburban neighbourhood
Are rotting away.
In an effort to fix the gaping holes in the road,
That is eating minivans full of soccer moms for lunch
The city sent its best men to fix the job- and a water pipe burst.
Now my street is flooded.
Two bright orange pylons with a small DANGER sign
are all that sit around the burst pipe,
I guess the construction workers are out on a smoke break.
The water flows quickly past all the outrageously priced homes,
And I’m convinced that George Bush won and the apocalypse is here.
I’ve looked around for Jesus but I haven’t seen him,
Maybe he’s with the construction workers.
