the unknown

She looks outside the window
From the world she’s made inside.
For what was once so cold and empty
Now looks so far and so wide.
The vast adventures to be had
The journeys to be explored
She feels a yearning deep within
And hears the loud but distant call.
But how should she escape?
Through the window, through the door?
Should she disappear in the middle of the night,
And be seen or heard no more?
She closes her eyes and turns a way
A ‘fools dream’ she decides
As she looks back to the world she has made,
With all it’s safety and all it’s lies.
