“LOVE KNOWS NOT ITS OWN DEPTH
UNTIL THE HOUR OF SEPARATION”
We have lost our beloved dog Kali, she is only 9 years old and was recently been diagnosed with terminal horrible cancer. This picture was taken when we arrived in Texas 6 years ago – before we came to Texas she loved living in Seattle for 3 years and running around in all the huge dog parks. Seattle is a very dog friendly place, where we could take Kali with us on the bus and on boat rides and in the beautiful green and clean dog friendly parks.
Texas is very hot for a Shetland Sheepdog.
San Antonio has so many stray dogs running around – it is not a dog-friendly place and people tend to leave their dogs in their back yard in all kinds of weather – with very little human contact – because they think of the dog as a cheap and convenient alarm system. It has been really shocking to see how people treat dogs here in San Antonio, Texas. Most of the dogs get heartworm because their owners don’t bother to prevent it, it is rampant here in Texas and dogs are in great pain when the worms are literally eating away their heart. Sorry to be so judgemental about San Antonio – but as far as animals are concerned, there is very little care and compassion or even love.
